The Aims of the TTBS

Our Aims are to help those in reduced circumstances who have been employed in the UK by a qualifying business for at least 10 years. Qualifying businesses include timber merchants, timber importers, timber exporters and agents.

We welcome referrals from individuals, other charities, as well as from existing beneficiaries.

The Society was founded in 1897 and is registered charity number 207734

The Society has 10 regional Committees who are all volunteers. Application for assistance are first looked at by the districts before going to our Board of Management for a decision. The Society has only one paid employee, our General Manager Ivan Savage who is based in our office in Oulton, Stone, Staffs, England.

While we rely on voluntary contributions from companies and individuals we raise a large part of our income each year from fund raising events around the country. For details of these events click on 'Events'
